A cultural and educational center, Maddocha Beach is the seat of Dalrymple University and Maddocha Beach University. Also in Maddocha Beach are the Jameson Conservatory of Music, the Walters Art Gallery, and the Maddocha Museum of Art. The Pratt Taylor Free Library and the municipal symphony orchestra are well known.

The city's historical sites include The Maddocha Transportation Museum, a museum of many of the ships built in the state.  Another well-known attraction is Fletcher Park, which includes a zoo. The Maddocha Southern Airport is nearby.
