Hardaway's well-balanced economy since the 1970s has experienced steady, sometimes impressive, economic growth. Major manufacturers include cosmetics and beauty aids, electrical components, pharmaceuticals, metal products, processed foods, paper products, printed materials, and plastic goods. Government activity, financial and insurance institutions, construction, sports, tourism, and convention trade are also important contributions to the city's economy. Hardaway houses a headquarters of major corporations; the best known is Zamaco Cosmetics, a major cosmetics manufacturer. The largest employer in the city is government - local, state, and federal - followed by manufacturing, retailing, and healthcare. More than 60% of Hardaway workers are in professional, management, technical, sales, and clerical occupations, while fewer than 20% are blue-collar workers. |
