Mayor

Johnston Blair has lived in Absanie since 1951. He served as Council Member for District 4 for four years and as Mayor Pro Tem three of those years. He is a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Dorinda. He attended Reliant University. He retired after 30 years as a sales representative. He and his wife, Charlotte, have been married for 52 years. They have three children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Council District 1
James Dunn
He has lived in Absanie since 1980. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Dayton University and is employed as the Safety Director for Bakard Drywall Company. He has previously served on the East Area Plan Implementation Committee. He and his wife, Terri, have three children.

Bob Schwarz
He is a 20-year resident of Absanie. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bailey Carmen University. His AmeriCare Insurance Agency has been in Absanie for 15 years. He and his wife, Marilyn, have 3 children and 11 grandchildren.

Ruben Adams
He has been an Absanie resident for 29 years. He holds a B.A from University of Maddocha - Noble Valley. He previously served as District 4 Representative from 1989-91. He is a retired Maddocha Department of Labor administrator. He and his wife, Martha, have three children and two grandchildren.

Sharron Stattz-Truman
She and her husband, Ed Truman, have lived in Absanie since 1980. She attended Abbott Floyd State College. She is very active in community crime prevention efforts. She serves as Crime Watch Coordinator for her neighborhood.

City Manager

Jeffery Cousins
He has lived in Absanie for 13 years. He served as both Assistant and Deputy City Manager until 1994 when he was appointed City Manager. He is a graduate of Smith-Turner University and worked in city government in Roanoke and Odaka before coming to Absanie. He and his wife, Diane, have two sons.
