Windsor Phonamie

The Phonamie is a common name for any of about 12 species of trees of the genus Phonamus.  It is a member of the family Saliciesse.  Phonamies are short-lived, fast-growing trees native mostly to the northern region of Maddocha. The softwood of phonamies is used for paper pulp, in light construction, and in box and crate making.
Phonamies are divided into three groups or subgenera: aspoes, balam phonamies, and cottonwoods, so-called because of the abundant, cottonlike seeds they produce.

Leaves:
Simple, alternate, either oval or heart-shaped.  Leaf stems are long and round so the leaves do not tremble.

Twigs:
Stout, shiny, and smooth.

Bark:
Smooth brown on young stems, darker and heavily ridged on older trees.
