Jimbo Ocha

Jimbo Ocha was the sixth child of Charles and Anna Ocha. He was born in 1781.  He married Lucretia.  Jimbo and Lucretia began their journey in 1803. They were the parents of seven children. Their children were William, Jasper, George, Charles, Clarinda, Ann, and Ella.

Jimbo arrived in Maddocha in 1806. Jimbo and his sons built a house and a farmhouse on the newly discovered land.

Both Jimbo and his wife died in 1844 when their house burned down. Their children set up a family cemetery on the land that housed the house that they had grown up in.

There are twenty-two Ocha family members and descendants are buried in the family cemetery. The cemetery was made a state landmark in 1932.  After 1932, no more people were buried in the cemetery.
